Satellite processing for credit cards

Maybe I need new clubs
My system is connected to a modem. I don't believe it matters whether the modem is connected to cable, dsl, or satellite.

A friend of mine had a satellite phone with him while he was doing some intense missionary work in remote areas of some third world countries. That communication somewhat bypassing landline & cell phone was a good fit for him in less developed areas of the globe ... but he was exasperated at the costs associated with using satellite. I am thinking that since modems or cell towers are necessary like what Cantbreak80 alluded to ... it could require those landline, cellphone & other satellite networks. If some company found a way to be able to use just one Satellite Network ... maybe it could be a winner!
