As we start a new year we have decided to do all our business communications by going wireless using our iPhone. In a year that will be our only phone number; the land line will go the way of the dinosaur. We are always on the go and we do not have anyone to sit in the office waiting around for phone calls. The internet has changed the way we work, so we have changed with it. We order parts, supplies, send invoices, pay bills, and many other functions all over the internet. Here are some more reasons that we have changed.
1. We have a Blue Tooth wireless head set, so when we are out of the office driving on our way to do service calls, we can still answer the phone and take care of customers or inquiries about our products. If you are like me, talking to a machine is not one of my favorite things. We think it is just better customer relations if we answer the phone whenever you call during normal working hours.
2. When a customer has a problem with a vending machine, if we need to, we can ask them to go on FaceTime and actually show us which device is causing the problem. We can see for ourselves what the customer is talking about. We have had occasion in trouble shooting where the terminology we are using gets confusing to the customer. This way we can lead the customer to the proper device and try to fix it. We think this will help everybody involved.
3. We are getting invoices, information, order forms, pix, and all kinds of printed material attached to emails, so we are asking that our business partners and customers scan documents or other material, attach it to an email, and use the internet to deliver it to us. One of the great pluses is being able to receive a pix of the vendor in the car wash setting so we can refresh our memories of which vendor someone has. A pix is worth a thousand words!!!!
4. Another plus is having you take a pix of anything and message it to us so we can look at the problem and study how it can be fixed.

We look forward to working with all of our customers in this very efficient way.

Jim - glad to see you're going the way of the mobile office, it's great. Just remember, FaceTime only works if both users have an iPhone.

All - this method has worked great for Jim to work with me on my vendor. I took some pictures of the problems I was having and sent them over to him for review. This greatly reduced the troubleshooting time.

Jeff,

Yes, I know. I think I can do the same thing with Android phones by using Skype. This is a learning experience with me, but we will get there!! If I get stuck, I will ask my Grandchildren to teach me!!!
