Hey guys .. been designing up a new 'vending area'. From searching around this forum (great info, fellas -- always extremely helpful!) it seems Shurvend is a favorite mentioned often. From the pics, the shell doesn't look like it's made from stainless steel -- I assume it's steel that is powdercoated? Has anyone had problems with rust? I'm on the South side of Houston, so humidity/rust is a constant even when under cover. Also, does anyone know the footprint off the top of their head for the big one?

Thanks!

It is powdercoated steel. No rust, but after five years the surface isn't bright and shiny any more, it is oxidized and looks like an old car that needs a good wax job. If I spent some effort I believe I could get the shine back, it hasn't been high on my list however.

I have one in my wash. Who ever built it, put a SS cover on the outside, and the vending machine gets serviced from the inside of the mechanical room.

Our new VendPro-iG4 (32-selection) and VendPro-18 Junior (18-selection) vendors are steel that is powder coated which does show "age" over the years. The VendPro -18 does have a stainless door. We have vendors in the Houston area, but no one has said much about rust problems even with the humidity and salt air that is there. If you want to go with a stainless steel vendor, we can do that so you will feel comfortable with the humidity. Only one caveat for you to consider; don't be surprised if the cost is 40-50% higher than the powder coated one. Stainless is expensive, it is hard to work with, but it can be done. You just have to pay extra for the privilege of owning a unique vendor. PM me for a quote.

We own four Shurvend Vendors. One of them is a hole-in-the-wall vendor with a stainless front. It is 11 years old and looks great. We have another 11 year old vendor in a black powder coated security cage. It is showing some age but not rusting. It is sitting under a covered changer area. We have two more that are 5 years old, sitting in the open vac area, and they still look great.
I'd highly recommend Jim "Uncle Sam", and Shurvend. You won't be disappointed!
