Soda Sales

It seems my soda sales have dropped off dramatically over the past 5 years. I probably sell about of third of what I used to sell. I don't know if the public is just becoming more health conscious or what. What is everyone else seeing and what is selling good that I don't have? Below is my selection. I am thinking of switching monster out for red bull

Mountain dew, and diet Mt dew
Dr Pepper
Pepsi
Coke
Sprite
Monster

I think my soda sales have probably declined a little bit but I don't really keep track of it like I should. I view soda sales as a customer convenience and one of those little perks that my wash has that differentiates me from the competition.

That said, I always stock plenty of Poland Spring water and that seems to do pretty well plus you can buy it in big 30 packs a lot cheaper than soda. I recently stocked some green original Gatorade. I think if you want things to improve you have to get creative. My old friend Whale of a Wash used to really get into this aspect of the business. He used to buy things like cherry Coke, cream soda, and a bunch of other seasonal flavors like lemonade and iced tea in the summer. The guy was a vending genius! Good luck

for what it's worth I think you could get rid of Pepsi because it's kind of redundant to have two different colas in there in my opinion.

Soda sales used to be a decent add-on, but now they barely move. I think people are just becoming way more health-conscious across the board. In fact, I’ve seen this shift even outside the car wash biz.

I don't really see soda sales as much of a profit center. It's really just a customer convenience. On a warm day it's nice to have the option of buying a cold drink after you wash and dry and vacuum the car. I set mine up to be profitable, but I'm not sending my kids to college with soda revenue that's for sure.
