I would like to hear your opinion about why one system may be better than the other manufacturer for an express conveyor business. Please feel free to include supporting data and first hand experience you can share.

If you happen to favor another system or manufacturer, let us all know why.

I look forward to your kind replies!

In terms of aesthetics and marketability, Tommy’s is like a luxury car. Sonny’s not so much.

Tommy’s system can be made to require one less person (i.e. control room, belts).

Tommy’s is pricy and Sonny’s appears to have taken prices offline.

MacNeil is Grade-A, Belanger to.

None of it is inexpensive.

So, I’d ask each what is the average ownership costs of equipment through the first three years of operation.

The reason is more sophisticated machines often require more skilled adjusting at greater expense than someone who takes care of less sophisticated equipment.

Average cost is total cost of owning and operating equipment divided by anticipated total number of vehicles or total operating hours.

Compare this instead of price.

Tommy's stuff is made by AVW. I have lots of AVW in 3 Tunnels and one Tunnel That was sonny's friction Equipment. AVW Stainless IMO is easier to keep looking nice than Aluminum or powder coat. The AVW mittters are simple and quieter than the Sonny's 901s.901s maybe more effective at cleaning but with triple mitters it becomes a non issue. I have. (I do not have any Sonny's conveyors so I cannot speak to that. ) Wraps are much the same. Sonny's has a spring loaded Bumper i like. I do not have retracts on any. Sonny's has a Shock where the Horizontal meets the vertical arm. I think you can get this with AVW but I do not have it. This shock means the wrap will climb a car easier if it stops spinning. Sonny's is first rate with regard to trouble shooting and fixes. I made some forum posts about issues and they called me within a half hour or so. Esthetics better for AVW BUT I do not know how much it really matters when the customer is in the car and the windows have soap and water on them.
