Sound of your equipment

How many of us know the certain sound of our equipment? I have gotten in tune with the way everything is suppose to sound so when it doesn't sound right to me I know I have a possible issue, everything may seem working visually but the sound is unique, I could be talking on the phone or just sitting peaceful in my office. Let me know if anybody else hear (pun intended) has that special carwashing 7th sense to know something isn't right or i'm I crazy?.

Having been around washes for 48 years, heck yeah. Recently, we were driving past one of the washes and I quickly made a U-turn. My wife asked why I was turning around. I told her it was because the automatic was down. To which she replied "How could you tell that from just driving by?". I could tell that the gantry wasn't all the way home.

I can hear a pump running and tell in an instant whether it needs valve o-rings or seals, or if it's pulling air through a leak, or if the inlet check valve is sticking.

I can smell the difference between a bay motor and a transformer that has burned out.

When I'm programming a custom message on a LED-3 9 times out of 10 I can stop the fast scroll on the exact letter or number I need.

I can feel when a pump is 50 PSI down on pressure.
