I've never seen it discussed here, so I thought I'd throw the question out there...

Does a Spot Free Holding Tank ever need to be cleaned? So far mine has been in operation for about a year and it still looks clean on the inside...Just wondering what the signs are if it does ever need cleaning. Maybe since there is not supposed to be anything in the water, then its pretty much maintenance free?

I've seen algae growing in the RO storage tanks in a few very poorly maintained washes. One guy was just filling the tank from a garden hose every day because the production system didn't work. He wasn't even putting soft water in it. The others had failed check valves letting soap back up into the tank - the biodegradable soap was good food for the algae.

I didn't know either. Thats why I asked. Sounds like as long as you don't have some sort of malfunction, it should never need cleaned.

Thanks for all the feedback. I was putting a list together for preventative maintenence and this came to mind....
