Someone sprayed a large quantity of spray lubricant into one of the vac machine coin acceptors. I'm guessing they used the small red hose/tip to insert it into the coin slot. It's more oily liquid than WD40, maybe a Teflon lubricant. I'm not sure.

Is there any strategy here where someone was trying to make slugs work instead of coins, or do you think this is run-of-the-mill vandalism?

btw, whatever it was, the acceptor started rejecting coins (quarters and tokens.) At first it was about 10% of coins but that increased. I tried re-tuning and cleaning the acceptor but it only continued to get worse, so I replaced it. (Slugbuster II)

Maybe it was already rejecting most of the coins and some "helpful" person thought lubricating it would make it work.
