Inherited a very old Standard Changer Model 500 (which was installed in the 1970s). We have a new changer on order however the supply chain lead-time is now 4-6 weeks (according to KR). The machine takes money in, reads it (in/out) twice, and then rejects many bills. Today it started to reject all the bills for no reason. I have the original manual which is of little use as the 'pwrfailure' error code on the LED is not in the manual. The manual mentions a balance card for calibrating the acceptance of bills but have no idea what that is referencing. Anyone familiar with the dinosaur? Standard Changer is still around however no one in tech support answers the phone.

I can’t believe anyone is still using a Standard System 500 validator. They were very temperamental, even when they were new. I tossed all System 500 components we had probably 15 or 20 years ago. I think I might have some calibration cards around.

Thx. It is a relic from a different era for sure!
