This has probably been addressed before, but is there a way to break in a star safe without combination or damage to head. Any advise would be appreciated. thanks.

Is it just a safe that has frozen up and refused to unlock, or do you not know the combination?

Stars can be drilled open and made reusable by a pro.

We had a local locksmith do it. It could take several hours. Afterwards he can plug the hole and repair the safe head.

I've done the same myself, took about 45 minutes, but I didn't repair the head since the customer had a spare.

I don't think the Star heads can be "cracked" like you see someone open a safe on TV because of the way the tumblers work. There's nothing to "feel" that corresponds to the numbers as you're turning the dial and finding where each level hits the next - I tried it once with the back off, and things "hit" in the same place regardless of the set combination.

Yes, there is a way and after watching my locksmith open up one of my safes with ease, I would recommend to everyone that is not using an additional lock on top of your star safe to do so. It was downright scary how fast this guy was able to get it.
