Teaming up with other industries?

Just wondering if anybody works with other local retail (i.e. gas stations/CS or other local merchants) stores to provide incentives or rewards to get more traffic to your wash. I was wanting to pair up with a major grocery/gas chain to offer a coupon for say a $1.00 off our top two washes....in return i could possibly ask for some free advertising when the company has radio/newspaper/online advertisements. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

I give the neighborig gas station's customers $1 off plus pay the owner 75 cents. I think this is too much but it kept him from building a carwash next to me. I also have signs in his store and over the pumps. Results have been small but lower income area and my carwash needs an upgrade (in process now).
