I have used KR anti-freeze for my FB with good results, but was wondering if anyone has tried their winter TF chemical or even the Simonez TF anti-freeze and can comment on it's effectiveness?

I've used the KR TF winter product and was happy with it.

Below is what I did, but I don't want to cross you up since there are different tips for different systems.

I'm near Raleigh NC and I used the red tip which for me is 17 to 1. That worked well. I think I had to drop a tip to beige at one point. The attached picture reflects that is good for 20 to 30F. This is about five times more concentrated than my normal TF tip. I had it down pretty good and would have to add about 10 to 15 PSI of air to produce good foam in the bays.

One thing I found out last year is that any metal parts that are open to the air should be insulated. I wrapped my TF foam generators (they are steel) with a foil type insulation which I think helps as well.

BTW - since the product is more expensive I set my TF so I could switch between normal and winter quickly. I bypass my solenoids for each color and have pickup hose to my flojet going into my normal yellow TF. I put blue winter TF into my normal blue TF tank. When I want to switch I just move the hose to the floject from yellow to blue. I only use one color (yellow) normally, but it makes switching back and forth easy and it also makes it easy to see when you've got the winter TF flowing....as the TF turns from yellow to blue.

You might check out Tom's Way video at https://www.kleen-ritecorp.com/p-4197-kleen-rite-anti-freeze-detergent-5-gallon.aspx and/or ask Kleen-Rite for guidance.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the info. I think sticking to one color in the winter would make things easier.
