If you get up in the morning with a place to go work, be thankful for that, because many do not have jobs. For a man, it's especially important to feel useful and a job is the best way I know how to do that.
A business you own or run is even better; you get to put yourself into it and play the 'game' of business. It's thrilling knowing you are in control and responsible for the good and bad, the profitable months and the months where you lose money. If you have the good times, you must accept and also be thankful for bad times.
If you have a nice little home and family to go back to at the end of every work day at your wash, be thankful for that. Many guys burn out on alcohol, street drugs and stress, making them a$$holes to live with till the family gets too tired and stays away. A good friend told me how to leave my problems at the wash and head home to act like Tom Cruise; all smiles and love for the family.
If you've got a car to drive (or a truck~ even better!), be thankful for that. I see many grown men thumbing or taking the bus. Not that there's any shame in that, but given a choice, my own car is much better.
Be thankful for the customer. I have a hard time with this one when they put too many demands on me, but I am learning to even be good to the grinches that come in.
Happy Thanksgiving; that's your pep talk!
