I was reading that if it had been a Boeing jet, the engines wouldn't have shut down. Today, you don't have much choice on the type of plane you fly in.

I've seen the video before, but still amazed at his skills, and cool collective behavior. Beyond those skills landing level in the water- avoiding boat traffic, and not cartwheeling by having one low wing, beyond skilled!! I read in an aviation magazine that the airbus computers sensed overheat condition and shut down with their fly by wire. A boeing plane would let you overide the computer, and use the engine until meltdown, but probably enough to land.

This incident was amazing in mny ways. Mainly everyone walked away fro it. Since no one was hurt, you pilots out there might enjoy this spoof of the event. I know I did.
