I read an article in my local paper about the passing of the guy who invented the thing. It said ne was in a carwash watching the plastic filaments swirling around and wondered if he could adapt that into a grass line trimmer, as we call them today. For some reason I've always referred to these filament type brushes as weed wackers, never knowing that they really were. Small world.

Many years ago Belanger developed the concept of the cloth wheel by adapting the sanding wheels they manufacture for the auto manufacturers in Detroit.

Good thing no one looked at a tractor-towed mower that uses swinging metal chains to knock down light brush and wondered if it would clean a car.

Yeah but the swinging chains idea would sure take away the "Eyebrow" problem on windshields LOL

There are just too many similarities to not have some fun with. Good ideas, just need some marketing slogans to convince the customer that not only has the dirt disappeared, but so has the windshield.
