I have a Ryko OHD2001 touch-free machine and I am trying to decide on my tri-foam output. Originally my TF came out colorful and foamy and you could actually smell it while in the car. Only problem was that it wasn't being rinsed off well enough and I had many complaints, so I added a second high-pressure pass right after the TF. That took care of most of the problem, but of course uses more water and adds time to each wash. A couple of weeks ago I lowered the tips on my TF to the next size down and now the TF works but isn't nearly as nice. It is not as foamy and you can't really smell it. I have been weighing the pros and cons of keeping it with the smaller output but can't decide and was hoping for some input. The way I see it, here is how it breaks down:

Pros:
Less TF chemical usage
Eliminate extra High-pressure pass so less water is used
Wash time is less since extra high-pressure pass is not used

Cons:
Not as great of an experience for the customer

What do you guys think? I haven't had any complaints since I lowered it, but I am not there often enough and most people don't really give feedback anyway unless something is really wrong, so I am not sure if people are really noticing or care about the difference.

In our automatic the trifoam is one of the selling points to our customers. They love the smell and many come just for that. So if it were me I'd keep with the quality output. Just my opinion.

INstead of going down a tip size, why don't you dilute the chemical stock just a little bit. Adding an inch of water to a 5 gallon concentrate. I have an OHD and also have a high pressure rise after trifoam. then slow water rise then spot free rise.

You might want to try some different trifoam chemicals. Some are more free rinsing than others. hey can give the show and quickly disappear.

Any recommendations on some that rinse easily? vinh, I also have the regular rinse and then spot free that come after the extra high-pressure rinse.

What are you using now? Blue coral or simoniz seem to rinse well for me.

First of all, Ryko's OHD triple foam was poorly engineered. My 2001 model is alway too liquidy. I use Kleenrite Triple foam polish, buy 3 get 1 free. They are rebrand from Simoniz. Cheap and effective. Cherry smell.

I have been using RYKO chemicals as a Tech for almost 15 years and can make it like shaving cream. If you are not rinsing with hi-impact completely, add a little mor clear coat. It has a defoamer in it and should take care of the little that could be left. According to usage chart you should start with Pink tip and should use 20ml in 30 seconds. Clearcoat afterwards pink tip and 14-20ml per 30 sec. Hope this helps

ON the 2001 OHD ryko has a option to rinse the trifoam with a HP rinse pass and then either 1 low pressure fresh water rinse pass or 3 LP rinse passes. I use a combo of 1 Hp rinse pass then 3 LP rinse passes. Then I folllow with a double wax pass and a SPR double pass. I never have complaints about tri foam. I put it on for show and smell. TO program the triple LP rinse pass you will need a hand held to plug into computer. It is one of the option questions in the program.
