I'm getting ready to make some upgrades and am considering adding Tri-Foam conditioner and HP clearcoat protectant in the bays (in addition to an Air Shammee in 1 or 2 bays). We have a D/H 2900 setup and offer T/E cleaner, Presoak, HP Soap, LP "Wax," Foam Brush, and Spot-Free.

If we go with Tri-Foam, I'd eliminate our LP Wax function so we'd have an empty hydrominder tank to use. I suppose I could use that tank for a Bug Buster product, but would it be possible to convert it to a HP clearcoat protectant function instead? If not, what's the best way to add that to our current menu?

What kind of setup would you recommend for Tri-Foam? A tank or tankless system (i.e., using dosatrons)? All 3 colors at once, or one at a time? Whose equipment would you recommend? D/H or another "specialist," or a generic system from Windtrax, Dultmeier, Kleen-Rite, or National Pride? BTW, I hate dealing with D/H... their prices are high, but they make up for that with terrible service.

We're also revamping our meter boxes (and installing credit card readers) and switching to a rotary dial system. I still have "a day or two" to decide between a 10- or 12-function rotary switch. Any recommendations there? Is 12 functions "too much?"

If you were setting up your "optimal" menu of functions, what would it look like? This:?

0 - Stop
1 - Tire & Engine Cleaner
2 - Bug Buster
3 - Presoak
4 - Soap
5 - Foaming Brush
6 - Rinse
7 - Triple Foam Conditioner
8 - Rinse
9 - Clearcoat Protectant
10 - Spot-Free Rinse
11 - Blow Dryer

Are two rinse functions necessary? Would you go with a 10-function switch and combine Bug Buster & Presoak and just have one rinse stop?

I appreciate all feedback! Thanks!

Go with as many functions as you can even if you dont use them now one day you will, the more things you offer in the bays the better. Where are you located?

I like having two rinses with one after the foam brush, the other just before spot-free. After years of trying to explain to customers how to use a self serve wash, I set it up so I can just say to use the functions in order.

I like to offer as many options as possible. Just like mep, I tell them to go clockwise with the functions and they will get the perfect wash.
