Just went through the best week since owning my wash. My auto kicked butt. People were amazed at the wash quality. Then I got a call from a lady who said her van didn’t get cleaned well. Next day another call from a disgruntled customer. What is going on? The first was from a lady with an extended height Sprinter with an AC unit on top. And it was also an extra long one. My auto will wash vans up to 8’-8” tall. This would push the envelope. Stood there watching with my hand on the emergency stop button. I thought it did a good job but noticed it did not do the rear well. The van was too long for the side brushes to get the rear and it had a camera mounted on top so the driver could see the rear. The amp sensing technology made the top brush go past more, so the rear didn’t get as clean as normal. The other vehicle was a Mini Cooper. They are basically golf carts that are street legal and this one had not been cleaned in a long time. We get this a lot as many are only here for the winter and leave the car just parked outside for the hot brutal summer. Rewashed both and got them clean but I found it odd that I had issues with the biggest and the smallest things out there.

Those calls are bound to happen in the car wash business. They still bother me a little, but the bottom line is that some vehicles need a hand scub and more . I saw a white mini cooper cued up for my touch free a couple weeks ago. It had red stains all over it that were stuck like glue. i hand washed the car with strong wheel cleaner and brushes. Took 2 guys a half hour. Customer said the car had been parked in Brooklyn NY for months under a Ginko tree!!!!

Some cars are too dirty for an automated process! Try putting a pan you fried eggs in in a dishwasher. Same concept.

Smile, take the $$ and cue the next car up!

Gotta love customers who park their car under a tree for 6 months, and then go to an IBA or express wash and complain that the basic wash didn't get all the baked-on sap, tree droppings and bird crap off.

I like to ask these customers... if you haven't been to the grocery store in 6 months, and you need to do some heavy-duty food shopping, do you get to go through the express checkout line????????
