My lowest cost ($7) wash package was terrible. PS 1, HP rinse, spot free and done.

I upgraded it yesterday and couldn't be happier. It is now PS 1 and 2, HP rinse, drying agent and spot free. What a fabulous improvement in car quality!!!

As a side benefit, I do certain 'wash, vac, windows' jobs at my detail shop and have several regulars who get this package. This $7 pkg. is a winner for these cars. I run them thru the IBA myself, towel dry them, shine the tires and BAM; they look super!

My question is this: should I hype the changes to this pkg or let customers discover on their own???

My vote is for letting them discover it on thier own.

Those cheaper customers will be more satisfied when they get your bottom wash.

Other than that, why would you promote your cheapest wash? You want them to go for the more expensive one anyway.

here are some reasons to promote my lowest cost wash:

1. get new people in to try the IBA who maybe haven't tried it yet. If they like the low cost, maybe they'd try the more expensive.

2. there's some customers who are pinching pennies these days and i'd rather make their $7 than zero.

3. I think there's plenty of profit margin on this wash, considering there's only 1 HP pass, no underbody, and no blowers.

Maybe if you promote the improvement people will wonder why the wash wasn't better before. They might think that you were cheating them before.

Oh, I was definitely cheating them before. Why, is there something wrong with that?
