Store #2 was bought in Oct, 2002 after which the ShurVend was installed in December on the exit side of the bays where the old drop shelf vendors had been because, in the customer?s words, ?it was the convenient thing to do and required no building of a pad or block work. Besides I thought my customers were already trained to look where the old vendors had been and the visual impact would be a driving force.? Again, we might add, it was the ?conventional wisdom? in the industry for vendor installations.
The customer made the decision in October, 2004 to move the vendor 60 feet to the end of one of the vac islands. You can see increases in average monthly sales after the ShurVend was installed and again after it was moved to the vacuum area. Then in 2005 the average monthly income increased almost 300% over the old drop shelf installation (Oct, Nov, 2002) and in 2006 the average monthly income increased to over 400% of the two drop shelf months.
These historical numbers show the increase in vending sales that can be obtained when computer-controlled vendors are installed in the vacuum area of the wash utilizing the Time, Location, Convenience, and the ?Sore Thumb? model of the vending machine forcing the customer to take notice of the vendor, see the convenience, and to ACT on ?impulse? to buy the vending products that are available.
