OK, I have an older Southern Pride Vac U Tron vacuum. The rest of my vac are fragramatics. Anyway, when you put quarters in, the transformer on top of the vac makes a click then nothing happens. I am guessing that the transformer is sending power to the vac motor and it is doing NOTHING. I have not checked the power yet.

Does anyone know which motor would replace the single motor in an older Stainless Vac U Tron?

OK, I have it figured out. My Lamb 115334 motor is not working.

How do I know whether it is the motor or the burshes??? Doi I need to replace the motors or the brushes?

Take the brushes out and check the length of the brush. If they are real short replace them. Also look at the motor armature for scoring or burning, when the brushes get short they tend to burn the armature.

We change vac motor brushes about every 14 - 18 months whether they need it or not, it’s just good preventive maintenance.

Yes, it was my brushes. They were short. I guess 15 years of use tends to wear them out. I replaced them and all is better. I don't know about replacing them every 14 months if it took 15 years for them to wear out. Maybe I should replace them every 10 years whether they need it or not!
