Vacume Islands, best place to buy??

I'm thinking about purchasing two vacume Islands. Not sure where to buy them, how much they cost($10,000 each?) How to install them. Any input would be great.. Thanks

I just purchase a Coleman Island with safes and extra security covers, pole and lighted awning. I think it was about $6000 just for the Island. It will hold 2 Combo vacs. No trash receptacle. I will have to check the price beause I don't remember the exact breakdown for the total package with the Vacs.

I have about 8 Coleman Islands with safes and have been happy with them. I also Purchased what I think was a Dralco unit. 2 of them from the catalog house, eiter Sonny's or kleen Rite. I don't recall how much they were. (cont'd)

The Catalog houses still show them. Check the price because you may get different quotes. The Dralco units come a s4 Pieces and you bolt the sides together with fasteners that appear on the interior. You just level and fill with concrete. BUT the cColeman Islands are made with Stainless threadedrods to anchor their vacs. Dralco Units have no mounts. If you go the Dralco route for your own vacs, go to the home center and get the 3/8" anchor bolts they sell to set inconcrete to anchor building sill plates. I suggest you make a plywood template for your vacs and use a nut on either side and attach the bolts to that. when the concrete is dry, remove the plywood. (Cont'd)

Now comes elec. Things I have learned. It is neat to trench under where the island will be and come up where the elec connecton will be under the shroud in the vac. Neat until a freeze thaw cycle busts the conduit or a car hits it. Now you have to either go over the top of the vac or figure out how to go over the top. You also need to be handy with a conduit bender for this.

Other method. (cont)

Stub up with the elec and a heavy duty box next to where the island will be. Mount a seperate box or boxes on the island drilling a 1" hole where the box hole is Use "Liquid tight fitting" from isnide the island - threads going thru outside the island and screw the box onto it. Run the flexible liquitite conduit thru the island to location(s) where Vacs or ligh mounts. Use same flexible liquitite conduit from the stup box to the island Box. Pour concrete over the flexible conduit. Now, if someone hits the island the ouside conduit gives, and unless really moved won't break and all electrical can be easily accessed. FWIW I use a seperate box for each item on the isand and a seperate line from the stub to the island. makes troubleshooting easy.
