Well apparently some teenagers didn't like how in tact my pay stations were. They used the bug wash brushes to smash out the monitors. I do have a video but its not clear enough and they rode up on bikes so they can't easily be identified. This is located near a not so great neighborhood so there is no cash on site and its well labeled as such, they did this purely for sport. they also drained the bucks for some reason, which is why there is blue stains on the lot. My insurance deductible is high enough where its probably not worth a claim. I am wondering if anyone has ever had any luck ordering these monitors for the Washify Xstation direct from the factory in China, or had any luck rebuilding them. Or if anyone has any old used Xstations that they would sell the monitors from.

If you have a community Facebook page in your area I would post the best pictures and even video of them on there and maybe offer a reward for information on the perpetrators. You might be surprised at the results you get. It's worth trying to get restitution if possible.

There is a camera in there but i am new to these pay stations. I am not sure if they're recording or if they're just used when making a transaction

I won't use NAYAX or MONEX for this reason alone. Nothing against their service, but I've seen what happens to fast food and gas station displays.
Damn that's a disheartening set of photographs.

Even with 4K cameras if the light is wrong or the angle is off it can be hard to ID people. The FB suggestion may be your best avenue and I would talk to local PD as they might know or recognize someone. Often it is not someone’s first time being a shithead.

Order new monitors/parts from washify and have them overnighted. Don't try to save money waiting 2 weeks for parts from someone else.

You need to get things back up and running asap. You can resort to any reasonable measures to restore your site (your insurance should cover it).

Assuming these are unattended IBAs? Might be worth getting goldlines or similar without a huge screen if so. Or if attended, get a metal cover made around them with a door that closes when site it closed, like what some tunnels use.

I do have them back up and running. I was in the process of swapping out all of my pay stations. I still had two that were not installed yet. So to avoid being closed we took those monitors. But i will still need two monitors to make the units that i plan on installing whole again. To add insult to injury another monitor just stopped working for being faulty, its new old stock but it was only put in to service a month ago so i am hoping that washify will help with a warranty.

I hate to see those acts of vandalism. How do those monitors cost?

Ive seen a bunch of those on carwashconsignment.com going for 5-6K. Might be worth to buy one for spare parts. They look like nice pay stations especially considering the multi height screen. I always wondered why people were getting rid of them for so cheap since there fairly new.

People say that the support from DRB isn’t great. I don’t have much to compare it to but it’s been okay so far for us.

Hi Edredtop.

I saw your message. I understand the fear of vandalism deeply. It is real everywhere. I would however never make assumptions especially when you are comparing outsourced and white labeled devices vs devices engineered directly and therefore with much technology. I demo to all at ICA, SWCA, and NRCC to their amazement - see here -
. I would never say that a vandal with intent won't eventually destroy the device but we put lots of technology to prevent it. I even had an operator bring me a reader at the last ICA, that was damaged by a bullet but the operator wanted to show me that even though it was shattered, it still worked (of course he replaced it) but no, please do not compare Nayax to others. Nayax, is not a receptor but a technology device. Please continue to learn more. It is your business. Ask questions and learn, learn learn about technology advances. If you have not already, take the 5 minutes to read my "sticky" under the Topic: "Nayax - Ask Harry the Nayax Expert".

All the best and if at NRCC, please stop by and say hi and happy to personally show you things you do not know until you speak to Nayax.

Thank you.

Harry,

You telling me (twice) not to opine on your product while offering your opinion on your competitor's products is rich.
Assuming that I am not informed while instructing me to not make assumptions is comical.

It is my belief that this forum was designed for car wash operators, manufacturers and suppliers to respectfully exchange advice, experience and technical help with others in our industry.

To be clear, my words were chosen very carefully in the original comment and in the context of this thread to express a personal opinion on why a credit acceptor with an LCD display isn't for me.
I'm sure you're a nice guy and you rep a good product but attempting to stifle an opinion on this site isn't good business Imo and isn't the American way.
I've been a multi-site operator for 20 years in some of the roughest demographics you can imagine (my cameras have provided evidence for close to 2 dozen homicides).
A vandal's potential is not a "fear" in my world, it's a reality.

Now ask yourself, what was the objective of your post and do you think addressing me like a 6 year old makes me more or less inclined to buy your product?

Hi Edredtop.

My apologies as that is how you felt. My intent is never to demean and only educate in areas people do not know and the many here who have spoken directly with me know this. I take any responses seriously so again my apologies.

Wishing you all the best and hope at a show or whenever we get to meet and speak. I love written messages but it never replaces verbal and face to face which is what I do everyday.

All the best and have a great weekend.

Harry
