One of my wash bays was vandalized along with my only bill changer (Duall Bill Changer) at the front of the building.
The repairs to the change machine have taken 3 weeks! My insurance wants an estimate of the $$ lost due to the bill changer damage. Note that I own a 4 SS & 1 IBA site. However, all bays have bill acceptors and CC acceptors. Any idea of the percentage of drive offs? Obviously if someone needed change for the vacuums and the attendant was not there it is a big problem.

Additionally, if the customer did not have a CC or small bills, etc... Any suggestions? Thanks.

Years ago we had a customer with a fairly busy 5-bay wash who didn't have a changer and didn't want one because he was so afraid of break-ins. He had an alarm and switches on everything. When he finally "saw the light" and put in a changer, his business doubled overnight.

I ran a wash for several years that had a $1 only changer. When I updated it to accept $5 bills, the income immediately increased 30%.

After a car burned in one of our self-service bays, I used the average daily income (since the wash opened) to estimate the loss for the 25 days the bay was closed. Insurance adjuster asked how I came up with the number, I told him, and he was ok with it.

I have one location that has in bay bill acceptors that has been running for 5 years. It is always around 15% of bills received in the bays and 85% bills in the changer. I just added some in bay bill acceptors at another location and the rate is 30% in bay bill acceptors and 70% through the bill changers.

This is absolutely unbelievable!! You?ve been without a changer for 3 weeks!! Now that?s pure BS. I?ve had customers who have had there changers trashed and we?ve got them up and running in less than 36 hours with a new changer. I?ve had changers sent in next day air so a customer wouldn?t be shut down. 3 weeks is totally unacceptable.
