Walters float symptoms...

Folk that have used Walters float valves.

I normally don't have problems with the supply line for my laser wash 4000 keeping up with my pump . I noticed that the supply line is having a problem today keeping up with the pump and the water level goes much slower. Is this a sign that the Walters float valve is going bad and needs to be rebuilt or replaced ? Everything else is operating as normal on my self-serve bays etc.

I have seen a Walters valve not fill as fast as it should, but there are other things that could cause a slow tank fill. That's why I like to have gauges in multiple points on the plumbing, before the main backflow preventer, between it and the softener, and after the softener.

Has your water pressure dropped? As you know self-serve bays use a lot less water than your LW4000. With the LW4000 has a higher supply demand is probably where you see the biggest difference. I would check the water supply pressure coming off your main. If so it can be your municipal water supply or most likely your water pressure regulator. I had a similar problem and it was from a distributor who partially closed a water valve on me.

MEP and Wiki,

Thanks! Went over to my distributor and picked up a new 1" Walters Float valve. Installed and back to normal. The valve I took out of the tank was 3 months old!? Yikes.
What model Jobe would you guys use for this application. I have a Topaz on my SS tank. I like it so far. Would another topaz do the trick?

Cool! I'm glad you have it working again! The walter float valves work pretty well but I feel too that the Jobe topaz works better. They last longer and built stronger. The regular topaz float valve should do the trick unless your water temp is over 115 degrees F, which I doubt. What size is your valve 1"?
