Hello,

I have a self inbay car wash, we treat water from an underground well. The water from the well is very ferrous and rich in minerals and salts.

I would like so much to hear your recommendations on how I can make my water quality any better and most of all if you recommend me some website or book in order to learn much more about water treatment if possible specific to car wash.

The water of the well parameters are:

1325 ppm and 2630 usiemens and 80 french degrees ( 800 ppm )

The water from the well get treated 1st through a quartzite filter at 4.5 bar of pressure, this process gets the water to: 1350 ppm and 2700 u siemens

to me it seams this quartzite filter didnt do much ! what was the purpose of this filter? to clean impurities in the water? if so why the water parameters didnt go any lower ? how often the quartzite inside has to be replaced?

after this quartzite filter the water gets clean with clorine in order to kill any bacteria, after this the water goes to a active carbon filter, after this filter the water parameters are almost the same 1353 ppm and 2715 u siemens , I have same question here nothing much has changed on the water, what for is this filter? and how often I have to replace the carbons inside?

water treatment continue part 2/2 ...

from here the water goes to a dual cylinder softener , now it is set to regenerate every 3 meter cubic of treated water, we treat 710 m3 of water per month and use 1000 kilograms of salt tablets in the softener, too me sems too much ! but I dont have idea how to check if its too much or not, I would like to understand so much how this process works

after all this process the water parameters are: 3050 usiemens and the hardness or the water is finally down to 20 degrees french (200 ppm), problem is that I think too much salt increased the usiemens !!!

after this the water goes into another dual softener where finally the hardness gets down to almost zero usiemens remains high !!!

after this the water goes to a reverse osmosis treatment 450 lt / hr with 2 membranes here finally the water usiemens get down to 75

I would like to better understand this process, please tell me where I can read much more , learn

If I am not wrogn I cant use osmotized water in all phases of the car wash, since its very expensive process to produce it and also some products do not work well with osmotized water they prefer just softened water right?

one solution I was thinking about is mix softened water with osmotized water to lower the usiemenes of the softened water, is this ok to do?

thanks so much

Mario
