Wash Bay- IDX issue I believe, sometime it counts tokens correctly sometime it does not. Keeps token and no credit on display.

Hello,
My bay coin acceptor has an issue. I will work fine for one customer then it will count 4 tokens fine and then won't count the 5th token. Next customer will not get credit for all of deposited tokens. Tried reporgraming unit. Credit seems to be fine. Any ideas?

If it's a IDX coin acceptor check the solenoid on the side of the frame, if it's not loose take it out and replace it.

Hi Randy, first off Thanks!

I'm heading out there soon. What might a IDX solenoid look like. Mounted to the insided of the metal frame?

Thanks again

It's on the side of the coin acceptor, it makes the coin shoe go in and out. If the center screw gets loose it won;t work right.

I replaced the solenoid with a spare, easy trade out, but no luck. Then checked the wires for the 3rd time and yep there it was bad connection. Just an fyi it was giving a .75 credit as opposed to 1.00 for our tokens. Guess the voltage power issue was creating havoc.
Anyway, its fixed and the bay is happy. Thanks!
