I have had an intermittant problem for about 4 months now. My one water wizard will start washing the front of the car only but will continue through all the cycles. Sometimes it just washes the front bumper other times it washes to the front windshield. I have tried all of the following. Replaced the car length eyes (current reading on my eye tester is A1). Did a wheel count repetitively to see if same count came up each time (it does). Checked the cables to eyes. I am at a loss as to how to troubleshoot this sometimes it happens once a week then it happens sometimes twice and three times a day. But I can never simulate the problem. I also reversed the amplifiers to see if I could create a different problem by having them reversed. I still seem to think it is an eye problem. My other water wizard is giving me reading in the H's but continues to function properly. The wash I am having trouble with always gives me an A1 reading and I was told it should only do this when the eyes are brand new. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Tomorrow I am going to switch the car length eyes between both of my bays and see if it happens on the other bay. I'm guessing it will not.

Have you checked the safety can eyes? Weird things happen when they go out. Also,I think the end of track prox can case the same symptoms.

Water Wizard,
I had this problem a couple years ago on one of my W/W ( 2003 model).
problem ended up being a software problem, wheel counter was counting when gantry was not moving. Have someone watch wheel on control while gantry is in wash cycle.
Coleman provided software update at no charge, no problem since.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Tom, I will call Coleman tomorrow. My software could be out of date we opened in August 2004 so we might have the same old software.

I had the same kind of problem before but what happened to me was I had a high pressure hose bust on the passenger side of gantry and water got in to control cabinet, replaced the hose let everything dry turned it back on it worked for about a week then started doing that and i could not figure it out. But it ended up being the 1d08 and 1d16 screwing up. I had to watch the lights on them while it was washing a car to see what lights were turning on and off. It was not easy to find out. I hope you let us know what it was.

Did you replace both ID's after they dried out? I just had the boom swivel go bad soak my gantry control box and now the wheel counts are bad and sometimes not at all. I am hoping I can let them dry out and this will go away!

We once found that when the boom came down the boom air motor that tilts the boom was rubbing the wire to the can eye and would short out causing this problem but it would not do it every wash, might look at that.
