I found this for $135!! Wth?!!
It's a 20" x 4.5" , looks like a wound 5 micron.
You guys have any advice for a cheaper filter, that's compatible?

Coach that's about the going rate for everpures. I instail them all the time at work on icemachines. There a really good filter you can also try your local Hvac/refrigeration supply house like united Refrigeration will have them. Shop around online too those will keep them hoshizaki"s humming along and clean condenser coils.

My Kooler has a Scottsman Prodigy. Works great, but 1 of those EverOur filters top crwcked, & leaked the powder carbon. Just noticed it, as ice quality slipped.
Guess we'll have to pony up. Although we're considering toeing into our SFR holding tank, & using that RO water.
Thoughts. ...?

You could use SFR water as long as you get enough water to the machines and the SFR doesn't have a funny taste in the water. I would defiantly get it addressed asap before the evaporator plates warp/freeze up when the machine is starving for water then you will be spending some big money. I am not a fan personally with the Scotsman prodigys myself after working on couple hundred or so of them but if there chimeing along perfect. The only thing I will say is the everpure filters are the best for icemachines nobody filters have the taste quality to remove chlorine and trash out of the ice like they do. A icemachine starving for water is not a good thing at all and can do long term damage if it doesn't shut itself down on the board.
