Hello Again to the Forum---

It has been a little over a year since I last posted in the ShurVend User’s Group and then the User’s Group disappeared. There are many reasons for the hiatus I took for the year, but now my energy has returned and my go-get-‘em attitude is back. It was kinda like a sabbatical during the past year where I took time to study, observe, and listen to the vibes that are changing this industry on a daily basis. I took some time to travel to 3-4 states delivering and installing vendors and looking at car washes as we found them along the way. The economic problems that engulfed the U.S. during the past few years has forced many businesses to re-access where they are and where they needed to go to survive. We at ShurVend were no different.

As a result of the study and observations that we made, in January, 2012, the idea and the design for a whole new high security vending machine was conceived and built; it became known as the ShurVend VendPro-iG4 (a 32-selection, internet ready, Generation 4 machine). This vending machine encompassed all the experience, customer ideas, and the technology that we learned and was current in January, 2012. This vendor was shown for the first time at the Car Wash Show in Las Vegas and was user friendly with real time data using a “Smart Phone”. The Vend-Pro-iG4 was well received by attendees at the show and we have been very busy building different models since the show. The original free standing –iG4 has morphed into an in-the-wall model (-iG4W) with front loading, and an in-the -wall model (-iG4RL) that is rear loaded.

I will Blog again and try to bring a new perspective and some new ideas to car wash vending as a profit center on a car wash site. The old ideas must pass away and new paradigm shifts must be made to use all the new technology that is being developed every day. I look forward to your comments and ideas about vending car wash products at car wash sites; your comments and ideas are always welcome in the ShurVend User’s Group. That is how we learn!!!

P.S When I posted yesterday, this part got left off!!!

Jim,

Nice to see you back on the site. I also wanted to thank you for building such a great secure vendor. This past weekend I had 3 kids throwing a brick, kicking, and punching the vendor. They were at it for a good 5 minutes with no luck. The only damage was the first plexy glass broke and a few scratches on the lexan. Both easy to replace. I have had my vendor for 5 years now with this being the first attempted break in and hope it’s the last.

Thanks again for building a great vendor,

Rob
