I have been surfing the internet lately trying to find a way to compare yearly weather data for a given area. I found one site called CityRating.com that has some of the information that I think will really help operators except that the data is only a summary of a city and not a yearly list. For example it if you click on a city like Seattle it tells you that on average you will see 201 cloudy days, 83 partly cloudy days and 71 Clear days per year. It also gives monthly totals, temps etc. but you cannot break it down by years. Las Vegas totals are 73 cloudy days, 82 PC dyas and 210 Clear days. Little Rock , AR is 147 coudy, 100 PC days and 119 clear days. If anyone one knows of a website where we could break down each year for a given area I think we could all get a better perspective on our yearly business as to weather vs. economy factors.
Just using the data in summary is nice when planning to build a wash in a given area since you can see overall possibilites. If anyone finds a site please let me know.

Geez, I am looking at 195 cloudy days per year and another 105 partly cloudy one. I always wondered why I hated Michigan :)

Great Find!

I went to the national weather service site and looked up under climate data and found good data for the last year. I wish they had it back further but I could not find it. I broke it down using any fair day a + and any cloudy or PC day a minus. It is amazing how close each months revenues mirror the outcome. The amount of days + or - reflected the months revenue. ANy months with high + side days showed a great month. It may not work in Seattle were people still wash their cars on a cloudy day but for me there is a correlation beween the sunny days and carwash volume. Website was ncdc.noaa.gov
