Has anyone tried a web controlled gates for closing a bay or iba? If so how does it work? I would like to close bays without going to the wash when it goes down.

ezecontrol.com will do this. It can perform functions based on time temperature or just manually hitting a button on the computer. With a second sensor you could confirm closure as well.

If you want capabilities like remotely open/close bay door, you may want to investigate some of the new “home” intelligence systems that are available.

One is the Nexia system. Nexia is built around an open wireless system that can monitor and control devices (appliances), lighting and automation functions (i.e. surveillance cameras), locks and controls (i.e. thermostats, etc.).

Everything can be managed and monitored via smart phone.

Mud,

Not sure I completely understand the question. Do you want it to automatically close down the IBA when the machine goes out of service, or do you want to remotely close down the wash when you want too? Is it just one IBA or the property you want to prevent access?

There are multiple ways of doing this depending..

I agree, and there are much less expensive ways of doing it than putting up gates. Some red/green lights above the bays like what you see above a bank's drive-through lanes with the same circuit set to kill power to the coin acceptor would do the same thing.
