Weep Mizer sensor

I just bought a weep mizer for one of my washes and wasn't sure the best way to place the sensor. It is the newer yellow wire with a bullet looking sensor on the end. Do I need to put it on something, or can I just have it hanging out one of the wall of the wash? If it needs to go in something, what is best? Thanks.

Whenever I install a Weepmizer I mount the temperature probe on a “L” bracket made out of a piece of thin aluminum that is about 6” long to get the temperature probe away from the building. This way the temperature probe won't pick up any heat from the building. With the new round digital probe I drill a hole in the “L” bracket and put a rubber grommet in the hole and then slip the probe into the rubber grommet. You always want to mount the temperature probe on the North side of the building, in the shade, away from any sources of heat, floor heat, lights etc.

Ditto from Randy. Except, I actually install two sensors (as the weep miser will do both and take the coldest reading). The other sensor is in my steel roof attic.
