We get asked from time to time why our smaller in-the-wall 18-selection vendor is about the same price as the larger 32-selection vendor. Here are some of the reasons for this.

1. The cost of the electronics and money handling equipment to operate any vendor is the same whether you vend 10 items or 60 items. Control boards, Sensit devices, bill validators, coin changers, and wireless credit card systems are all the same price no matter how many products are vended.
2. The 18-selection in-the-wall vendor has a stainless steel door (competition and security) and the slide out chassis with all the electronics and the money handling has to have special sliders to make it work. These features are more costly to build.
3. The smaller vendor has to fit into an opening whose dimensions were decided years ago by VendMaster or ??? To be competitive we had to squeeze everything down to fit that opening and that takes time (labor) to modify and fit all the parts.
4. The rear-load models are more expensive to build since you cannot buy off-the-shelf trays and sliders that are made for rear loading. There are few if any rear load vendors made commercially in the U.S.
5. The VendPro-iG4 was developed to provide security, a simple build where parts are easily available and easy to install, a smaller footprint, and we have room to vend more items with the same electronics and money handling. In our opinion 18-selections may not be enough to give the customer all the choices they want and 50-60 selections is many more than most operators want to offer. Inventory of the products for 50-60 selections can be a problem for some operators. The iG4 with 32-selections seems to be a happy medium; you can double up on items that move very fast, but you can still present a good selection to the customer. The storage room in the bottom of the VendPro-iG4 is an added convenience for operators to store inventory used in the vendor

All our units come equipped with Mars bill validator and a Mars changer; this equipment has become our standard machine set-up. All our vendors can accept a wireless credit card reader. If an operator wants any other branded equipment in their vendor, we can do it, but it has to be requested. Other brands are less expensive, but we don’t think they give the best service. We have had longer and better service from Mars over the years, so that is what we supply. We don't want customers to have problems and we don't want to have to spend time trying to fix what we think is less than the best equipment. Many of our competitors do not feel this way, but you get what you pay for.
