My hardness is 7. Will it hurt to HP rinse with not conditioned water on my IBA? I plan on useing soft water for the LP functions and the RO.

7 is pretty low. It shouldn't cause calcium build-up in the pump, and even that won't "hurt" it.

That should be fine. In fact hard water tends to rinse off chemicals better than soft. Make sure to finish with an RO rinse to prevent spotting.

As long as the wash water is soft you are good. I have had hard water rinse for decades in my IBA and has not hurt my pumps or anything else (just normal plumbing corrosion for galv plumbing. The amount of time hard water is in the pump is minimal and with the next wash cycle with hot, soft water with chemicals helps keep the pump and plumbing clear. hope this helps

Thanks for the replies. This helps a lot. Going to soften just the LP and the RO. Going with a Fleck 9500.
