Well today was a day to remember... Two women pull into the automatic, the DS 5000 presoaks their car and the gantry is now at the rear bumper in the power blast position. The passenger decides she is hot sitting in the car, (engine turned off and a 85 degree day), and is going to get out and go hang outside where the air is cooler. She opens the door, starts to get out, power blast hits her, she panics closes her door and runs to the front of the car where she is trapped because the front steel bay door is closed,(door is closed to stop the relentless winds). I don't have time to get into detail but after the screams and the horn honking she made it out and past the moving gantry, exiting the rear off the car. She was scared to death. My attendant was on site and when I arrived after hours, I was able to check my video cams... (get them if you do not have them!!) and was just relieved she wasn't hurt only wet and shaken up.
Also I should add that I own a older wash with very small bays, the DS 5000 just fits into the bay, the sides of the gantry and the cement walls are about 9-10" apart.
