MY IBA entry door intermittently won't close when it should (wash starts and temp is cold).

The chicklet relay corresponding to 'entry door close' is lit (LED) and I have swapped out the chicklet just to be sure that isn't the problem.

When the door fails to close, it also will not close when I press 'close' on the 3 button station. I cycle the power (on the fuse panel braker), then the door will close when I press 'close' on the 3 button station.

Any clue? bad 3 button station or a switch inside the operator itself?

Operator is a 1 year old liftmaster jack shaft style.

TIA~

entry door has no photoeyes.

i think it must be in the operator itself or the 3 button station.

Something is up with the reversing circuit. If you don't have photo eyes on that door, I would suspect a freezing air switch or something along those lines. Could be a bad stop button in your push buttons as well, but that won't usually be an intermittent problem.

Update

I think it is fixed.

I found extremem corrosion inside my 'emergency exit' button in the bay. If a customer gets stuck in the bay with doors down the button opens both doors.

The cover had corroded and let moisture in, which caused an extreme corrosion condition inside the box. The corrosion was shorting out the switch and sending an 'open' signal pulse to operator.

Removed switch and it works normally.
Now will replace with more waterproof unit. This is the one I had: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GE-CR104P-F...N-1-N-O-1-N-C-SWITCH-RED-NO-BOX-/280894538096

We used to have all sorts of door fail to close issues---mainly when real cold and neede it he most was when it failed---we took 6" square plastic boxes and relocate air swith inside box then ran power to box. we hooked up a 10 watt bulb to heat this box--drilled small hole to see if bulb was working and eliminated most cold problems. also ran heat bulb in door operator control box.
