I am having issues with my Coinco bill acceptor (7-10 years old) on my WS2, that not all bills are being registered. Unitec told me its the way Coinco manufactures their wiring harness in which the pushin connections become loose and the WS2 doesn't register the bill. In addition to, even though it has been upgraded for new bills they don't always accept $5 bills. I am looking to upgrade my acceptor. Who makes the best and most reliable bill acceptor today and that will work on a WS2 looking to accept $1, $5, $10, & $20? Is Coinco still the best? I also heard Mars is good too. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

Is it a MAG validator? That was an issue every once in a while on the mag validators, but it shouldn't be an issue any longer with coinco's new vantage validators. We upgraded to vantage validators in our wash select II's, couldn't be happier. They also have a trade in program where you can get a significant discount towards the purchase of a new one if you send them your old validator.

Unitec uses a Coinco Mag-52BAB as does a lot other equipment manufactures. The BAB harness is the long harness between the validator and the control box, this allows the control box to be taken off the validator and be remotely mounted inside the cabinet. This long harness is not needed in most applications. Sometimes the signal gets lost between the validator and the control box, that’s why your stealing bill every once and awhile. Every car wash operator should have a spare validator. If your Coinco is 7 – 10 years old you need to get it rebuilt. If I was to replace the Coinco validator I’d go with a Mars AE2602U5 validator or get a spare Coinco. Any validator should rebuilt every 2 - 3 years, I’ve got a customer who replaces his Mars validators in his changer and ACW’s every 2 years, he knows the importance of taking his customers money.

There isn't any real reason other that the Mars AE2602 validator is a much better validator than the Coinco Vantage. The Mars validator has a better track record, better longevity and they are less expensive to repair than the Coinco Vantage.
