WW 1.0 Acting erratically

Crazy day at the wash and of course my one WW 1.0 starts having problems. The gantry was running to the end of the track and I went on the ECC and saw that their were no counts. I first tried changing out telco measurement eyes. Then I called my distributor he said that it should be one of three things. He said to check number "7" on my input and if it was not pulsing on an off with the wheel when the gantry was moving to check the following.
1. Bad wheel count prox - I switched the prox from my boom arm that I know is working and the input still remained a solid on.
2. Bad Cable - I tried two other cables with out any success. (although these might not have been wired correctly)
3. Bad input - replaced the input and the light is pulsing now but the gantry is still going to end of track. I saw that it counted 3 to front of car but then did not read the rear of car.

Also, triple foam does not come on at all during it's pass. Weird stuff. Of course this happens on what could've been a huge day at the wash. Going back up tonight to troubleshoot. But not sure where to start. I think the counting wheel might be a good start to tonight's trouble shooting. It seems to be moving freely however from my earlier inspection. ****ed in Pittsburgh!!!

Update!- A slimy wheel was the problem. Ten minute fix probably cost me $500 in sales yesterday. The wheel was slimy and dirty on the plate and tread. I should've noticed this at the beginning of the troubleshooting, but just as someone else said on their post, "I like to to do the easy things last"

A dirt slick wheel will cause this problem, but the root of the problem probably lies with the 1/2 shaft that goes through the wheel. Over time it will get a groove cut in it from the metal flag and cause the wheel the bind. Add slim to it and it only compounds the problem. You can replace the wheel with a lawn mower wheel and attach the metal flag to it but you need to check that shaft as well. This will cause sporadic issues that are hard to reproduce and usually only occur when you are not there to witness it. Just a heads up!
