I'm getting an alarm that my tanks are empty when they are not. Noticed the red lion was flickering a bit, opened up the ECC and the electrical flickered a bit. Channel 2009 inputs are flickering dim. I was looking around, not sure what I did but then it was saying alarm 31 (Emergency stop circuit has been interrupted - check all e-stop switches). I don't know what to do about this. I cannot get the machine to do anything (tried to do a wheel test to just see if it will do anything and it would not - went and opened up the gantry, flipped it to test to see if it would do anything but it will not go fwd/reverse or move boom up/down - nada).

Seems to be an electrical issue if anyone can help with the e-stop switches that would be great but also any suggestions on what to check on the machine thinking all the tanks are empty when they're full. Thanks!

Here's a video of what it looks like inside the ECC:

The dimly lit red lion indicates you've most likely got a low voltage electrical issue. The most likely culprit is a banner eye on the gantry. Unplug the cord at the bottom of the ECC and see if the blinking goes away. If so, the problem is on the gantry or a short in the comm cable. If the problem remains with the comm cable disconnected it is possibly one of your floor eyes.

if the problem is determined to be on the gantry by the above test reconnect the cable. To further diagnose there is a little relay inside the gantry electrical box that you can turn off by flipping a tiny lever. This will turn off all transmitting eyes. If the problem goes away when you flip this lever start looking at all your transmitter eyes on the driver side. Often you can feel the heat generated by the short in the eye connector. If you flip the lever and the problem does not go away, it may be a receiver eye. It can also be a bad prox but that is very rare.

The banner multi channel eyes with the short cables go bad, usually at the connector. I like to replace with the long cable ones.

Great advice Greg, I had this problem last week and the idea of flicking on/off the eye test relay would have saved me a lot of time! Incidentally I had a banner sender eye on the boom go bad and drop the voltage!
