Kept getting top boom prox alarm and boom prox a error causing out of service and wash completely quit and reset. After speaking with Al at JC and him telling me to check counts on boom which always checked out during tests the boom eventually locked up and wouldn't come down. Discovered the key to the lovejoys in the boom motor were loose causing them to slip which would make sense for the top boom prox error. That solved still kept getting boom prox a alarm and Al told me to switch prox with B and if kept getting A then it was cable. Wash worked fine for 1/2 day then prox b alarm popped up. So changed prox and all was solved with out of services however tons of eye alarms would pop up and the boom would sparatically come down or not come down in rear or front and would profile sometimes and other times not. UGH! Now boom prox A alarm popped up again. So going to change cable for prox a to see if it helps because Kevin in tech said a short like that would cause all kinds of issues. So my question is, would this one cable cause all of these eye problems (rear profile, front profile, front boom eye block, rear boom eye block, undercarriage eye, treadle on err, can eye on err, measurement eye on err) or do I have MAJOR wiring problems?

PLCs look at one input at a time, not all of them simultaneously. When a short occurs, even for a few ms, a voltage drop could cause an variety of alarms. It just depends on what the PLC is scanning at the time of the short.

All of the eyes do come on at once at start of wash its a test to see if they are working. Actually they test off to make sure they all work.
