We have a fairly new hamilton changer and we have been randomly smelling something hot in the control room. The hot smell is coming from the changer. The xe validator smells hot and is uncomfortably hot to the touch. Anyone have this issue?

Going deep on my memory some of the hamiltion validators had a heating pad underneath the validator holder and they can cause problems like your describing, Randy on here will tell you exactly. Does it work as in still functioning? IF it has the heating pad i would unwire it to start with. Unless the unit doesnt work and the Magic smoke has come out.

There should be a heating pad on the underside of the cradle that the validator sits in. It is controlled by a thermostat, sometimes they'll stick open. Unplug the heating pad before it destroys the validator
