Has anyone seen the Ryko Maxx 3 in action? Any comments on the machine?

It’s an updated version of Softgloss Maxx.

It is targeted primarily at convenience store and gasoline segment (NACS show).

However, changes like gantry appearance, LED, multi-colored brushes, better wheels make it more marketable to private investor sites.

It provides what c-store/gas retailers are looking for that do not need tunnel.

This includes greater selection (friction, touch-less or both), better quality (with foam brite, better wheels, contour drying, MacNeil dryer option), lower operating expense (with friction, reclaim, modular design).

Great machine but get your wallet out.

Just like TV, if you want the luxury version of the vehicle shown in advertisement, it cost a whole lot more than base model.

Also, I believe you have to marry Ryko proprietary activation, payment terminals and door management system, just like their old tunnel systems.

Interesting input, looks like a nice machine but the bells and whistles in this business dont always turn out to be a better wash. How can a machine target gas stations and c stores? Through its entry systems capabilities? I like m22 machine too but its just to slow a machine. You need a good brush wash in 4 minutes......I just dont see one.

Not trying to change the subject, but another new new 3 brush unit now on the market is Washworld's new Profile. It looks like a very good machine. It has high pressure options - like wheel/rocker blast and a high pressure pre-wash and turbo nozzles that really enhance the quality of a friction wash without making it a hybrid machine, making it less expensive to purchase and operate.

The wall mounted design, slim gantry, wheel brush, high pressure turbo nozzles and productivity arches are all pretty attractive features. From what I can tell in the video, their wash media, which is foam, seems to be cut in very thin strips. It almost looks like the nylon brushes on older machines. It doesn't appear to have the traditional foam panels cut into strips.

I'll give this machine a serious look when it is time to purchase.

There is one of these in my town. Seems well built but the machine was down a day or two every week for the first 2 months after it was installed. The owner also put up signage cautioning people to remove their antennas because the tall side brush is pretty brutal at grabbing them. I like the wash but it is slow at over 7 min for the top wash. When I wash at the site I almost always use the Razor instead which will wash my truck in just over 5 min with the top package. The Profile doesn't seem to be down as much now as the bugs get worked out of it.

It's all how you program your system my SoftGloss XS 2 can wash a vehicle in under 5 mins on my top wash that includes: Trifoam soap, 2 Pass Foambrite Wash, Wheel Scrub, Surface Sealant, Clear-Coat, Spot Free Rinse

I have some pricing on the Maxx3. The way I specked it out I had every option except well scrub and on board dryers. Tri foam, Rain X, undercar wash, tire cleaner, cold wax full neon package etc. Priced out at 71K. If you added wheel scrub and on board dryer around 85K. The first 20 units have 30% off. I think this is actually a Karcher unit that Ryko is rebranding.

Soapy, I got similar pricing which I thought was very reasonable pricing. Are you familiar with their equipment/service? I talked to someone on the forum who had Rykos previous friction machine and liked it but was going with the washworld profile this time.

I am lucky to have RYKOs largest and one of the last independent distributors in my area. I have had the same tech working on my Ryko stuff for over 20 years and he is as good as there is. I have had great service from them. In comparison My quote on the Ryko Soft GLoss machine with similar features is about 25K more.

Why would a newer, more innovative style machine be cheaper? Im not understanding this?

I think they are trying to get a few machines out and it is introductory pricing for this new machine.

Hard to say whether to buy at a lower than expected introductory price, to pass on it or wait to see it in operation. Equipment manufacturers often start at a lower introductory price for two basic reasons. Sometimes it enables them to get some "field" experience with the new model before making a formal introduction to get rid of possible "bugs" or problems with the new machine. Sometimes they simply start at an introductory price to get a good start on the marketplace and have locations to send prospective buyers to in order to see the machine in action. Personally I think it is a good idea to see a machine in action in the field and talk to the operator before deciding on it. This does not include factory set ups.
