Sonny's s-s Mitter Gearbox

Anyone know where to find a perfection gearbox that Sonny's recently discontinued? Its for the side to side basket mitter. Would much rather replace the one part instead of buying the new Hera motor/gearbox setup they now carry.

That being said anyone currently running the new style have any complaints?

We had to replace a perfection gearbox and motor with whatever the replacement that Sonnys now recommends on the front to back mitter in less than a year. Gearbox was shredded. I was hoping that is was only an issue with the front to back mitter, but it looks like it could be an issue on the side to side mitter as well. Not cheap and not fun to replace

Why do you have to replace the gearbox? Is it leaking? We purchased seal kits and performed a fluid exchange for ours and they are working great.

The gearbox locked up luckily my supplier had one from a cancelled install so I avoided some of the cost. I just picked up a seal kit for another unit that started leaking.... waiting on a rain day.

I have a Sonnys side to side mitter for sale with microfiber cloth. Maybe washed 5000 cars. Gear box, motor and basket. If you are interested, dave@leterbuckcarwash.com make you a great deal.

We have two Sonnys FTB mitters. Been open 3 years and we have replaced 3 gear boxes, now on to our 4th as last one failed 30 days in. They're back to a style now where you can replace just the gear box or motor. However, they had a style in the last 2 years that required you to replace motor and gear box as one unit. All, with the exception of the 30 day one, failed at similar car counts.
