Have a customer with their older truck/bus touchless wash. We've been able to keep it going, until now. There is a touchscreen interface that has proprietary software in it that enables it to talk to the plc. The company that made the touchscreen does not support that version anymore, and Speciality went belly up several years ago. As much as I would like to sell them a new machine (Istobal makes a kick butt unit) I would like to see if we can keep this going a little longer. Anyone know where I can get the software?

What is interfacing with the plc? Also what is wrong with the terminal.... Does it turn on?

I had a similar problem to what you are describing.

I redid a bus wash that had a touchscreen that went bad. I just removed it and hard wired everything with relays. Worked fine.

I don't know what exactly 'broke' on it, but if the touchscreen actually works, but will not run the program, you may have a battery problem. The application will not run if the voltage drops too low - that way you don't have a machine running the risk of going berserk. GE Fanuc's software should still be available, but is probably not worth the investment on a single chance repair of a machine. Besides, the program may be password protected. Tri-Valley Equipment has the software for the SSA - maybe they can help...

A little update. First, thanks to you guys for helping out. I was able, because of this sit, to get in touch with a former Specialty guy who knows how to fix or replace the interface. The thing (interface) was made by Uniop and I got real bummed when they said they no longer supported it because of its age. God, I hope no one ever says that about me. So we should have the machine back up in a few days, and the owner thinks we can walk on water. Thanks to all for your help.

Mac, as it is a Uniop, is this a Cecatto Baltic? I may be able to get a spare uniop for you! Just let me know.

Well I guess you should have it going. You've been working on it for over a year and a half. ;)
Looks like MAC got his fixed way back. A junior member seems to have reopened the thread with a different issue. Sorry though I’m abt help
