Pros cons of each.
What's cost of each, not including install. Just cost of all materials & or Timers...

I don't have experience with cryptopay, but have spent some time learning about it. I do have experience with the eport.

Cryptopay requires a coordinator at $375 (one for the site) and a card reader at $375 (one per bay, vacuum, vending machine, etc.). You'll need internet access to support the system. Cryptopay is easy to install, use and maintain. My understanding is that worldpay is the credit card processing service that must be used with Cryptopay (no choice for you). Not certain about the processing fees, but from what I've learned via other members on this site the fees are between 5 to 5.5% on average. Seems like most members on this site find cryptopay tech support/customer service to be good, but there have been some posts about poor service. I've found cryptopay to be responsive, but I've also found that you need to speak with the right person to get good information. Cryptopay supports fleet accounts, can be managed online and provides site reporting. Cryptopay "consolidates" transactions, so if a customer swipes at the bay and at a vacuum during the same visit those two transactions get rolled up into one transaction for the purpose of processing fees (saves you some $$).

eport costs $310 for G9 which is the most current version of the eport. One eport is needed for each bay, vac, etc. The eport comes with a card reader, a telemeter (for communication to process and record transactions), a antenna and a isolation interface adaptor (a relay for wiring the eport to the coin mech - you can use the relay to capture coin and cash transactions for reporting). I've not installed cryptopay, but it seems like it would be an easier install than an eport due to having to find a place to locate the telemeter and mount the eport reader (cryptopay swiper is much sleeker). the eport does not require internet service, but each eport has a monthly charge of $7.95 which covers the communication cost via verizon wireless. Eport credit card processing must be done via USA Technologies/USALive (no choice for you). The fees are $7.95 per month per eport and...for eports with transactions that average less than $5 processing fees are 5.1% of each transaction.....for eports with transactions that average more than $5 processing fees are $.10 plus 2.6% per transaction. Customer service/tech support has been very good. Eports allow tiered pricing...you can charge more for credit cards than for cash. Eports have good reporting via USAlive and you can manage the eports via USAlive. USA Technologies has a customer loyalty program called "MORE". $300 gets you a starter kit with 200 generic loyalty cards. I haven't tried the MORE program yet, but I intend to try it. eports support Near Field Communication (NFC) which is the technology that mobile wallets like apple pay, android pay and samsung pay use. Some chip cards use NFC, but it is a small percentage right now. NFC isn't widely used at this point in time, so I don't see this as a big benefit over the cryptopay.

I've gone with USA Technologies, but under different circumstances I would have done cryptopay. I have an ice vending machine and a vending machine that both have USA Technologies readers on them. I went with USA technologies because I know it and it works well for me. If I didn't already have the eports on-site I probably would have gone with cryptopay. There is so much to learn, understand and keep up with it is easier for me to be consistent with equipment....same card readers, same coin mechs, same bill validators, etc.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Chatted w/ Cryptopay today. They think my D/H Touch Select 2000 , 10 select pushbutton, can do Cryptopay w/out adding Dixmoor LED7. However, it will only countdown. Not sure I can justify another $250/bay, for Dixmoor for "countup" + uninstall / install labor on the changeover....
What's you guys thoughts?
Additionally, what do you guys think about adding Cryptopay to my American Changer AC 8001 Paystation ? My CC service provider is currently NewTech, & oddly enough I just found out I only have dial up, & no internet! Will I need Internet for Cryptopay?

I actually think the eport units are better? But I called them for some additional info (years ago) and they said they discontinued their car wash products.... Did they release new car wash products?

Yes, you’ll need to get high speed internet. I’d go with the Cryptopay, it has a cleaner look on the coin box and they are a lot easier to install. Cryptopay is wireless so you don’t have to find a place for the Telemeter, the associated wiring and run the antenna outside the box, the G9 eport work best if the antenna is outside the steel cabinet. We have some USA Technologies G9 eport on our bill changers that dispense tokens, they work fine in that application. I don’t think the eport G9 will not work on a ACW unless you want to have one price, then it might work. Here’s what you get https://usatech.com/products-services/eport-cashless-hardware/eport-g9 what there not showing is the wring and the antenna, it's all pretty bulky.

I wouldn't say that one is better than the other. Both are good, but neither is perfect. USA tech doesn't really make anything specific for car wash, but they market the eport for car wash. They provide a relay for using the eport with electric pulses. I will share the install documents when I can get to them.

Sooner magic has found one of the issues I ran into...... I had the DH doors that count down.

eport docs

Posting some of the eport instructions. Had to convert them from pdf to jpg. Couldn't post the entire pdf documents for the eport on this site. e-mail me at mloewe@nc.rr.com if you want the full eport installation guide. The instructions make the install seem harder than it really is. I don't think it is as easy as cryptopay, but not very difficult. View attachment 904 View attachment 905

On crypto pay you can also get away with not getting high speed internet. I found a air card that was $39.99 with no monthly don't remember for how much data but crypto pay doesn't need much I bought a router and ran it directly thru router works like a champ with no high speed internet bill.

Could you elaborate on how you did this? I remember someone has done it but I haven't been able to find the post and I've got a couple people wanting to install Cryptopay where internet access is either too expensive or just not possible.

What's an "Ait Card". & how does that wok for Cryptopay? Wouldn't your router need to be hooked up to internet?

"Air card" that is the wireless device that connects to the Internet. (Cell)

Some routers allow you to plug an usb cell device into the back of it. To provide an Ethernet connection.... Which you need for cryptopay.

Some routers have the ability to accept sim cards.

If you had old Carolina Pride meter boxes, 7" x 9", recessed into a corner (kinda cockeyed): would those be able to accept Cryptopay?

You can always mount the reader next to the box.
