My 2.0 boom will not lower. Error message reads "boom safety eye did not test off" . Replaced emitter and receiver eyes and lights appear to blink appropriately on the 2010 card. Any one have any other suggestions on how to trouble shoot an eye error message? Thanks!
Definitely the input card if the lights on 2010 are switching. Those cards are a pain to change and don't forget to set the address on it when you replace it.
Well. I've hesitated replacing the input card due to intermitt success (working a day or 2 then not). I kept hope that it would keep working LOL. Going to go ahead and replace. Never changed one. How do you set address on new replacement?
Now you have mentioned it being an intermittent fault i would wonder if it is the actual problem. Normally if a card is gone...its just gone and doesnt work intermittently. I suggest the next time the fault appears you do this......manually operate the safety relay so that it cuts the power to the eyes. See which eye does not test off. Now it is either a short circuit on a plug, or on a cable or in the black junction box on the r.h side of the machine. It is worth opening the junction box and checking inside for moisture. Dry out if needed!

Take the cover off the card and there are four TINY dip switches. just match them up.
i would swap this card only if replacing the receiver eye and cable does not fix the problem. If this is the only error you're seeing consistently then I suspect that one of those components are bad. The cards are indeed pretty durable and don't go bad very often. If you're seeing a wide variety of errors and this is just one of many you could indeed have a voltage drop issue. If that is the case I would check a variety of things before I replaced the card.
