Hello, We have 2 Rowe BC-1400 after they was updated to take the new $5's
it now rejects $1 bills the code reads REJECT E . It will do this on and off all day. Can you tell me what to do ? The book tells you to replace so many things and I can't see why it was was working before it was updated.
Thanks

Yes. Replace the Rowe with Mars. You can probably sell the Rowe validatores and power supply for almost as much as the conversion kit. That is the single best upgrade that I have done to the ss side of my business in 7 years.

I concur, replace the Rowe changer guts with a Mars validator system and you’ll be much happier and a whole lot less frustrated.

Call Rowe tech support at 1-800-669-7693
The problem is probably in the VR/VT cell, try cleaning that
How long has it been since the transport/validator has been reconditioned?
It probably has nothing to do with the update
I like the Rowe stacker that separates the ones from the other bills
I asked Rowe to respond to this
Do you use any cleaning cards?, two types: sticky strip and alcohol based cleaning card. I dont think this will help this problem.
Let us know what you do.

Thanks we do clean them with both. When I put the old chip back in it will work great but then can't take the new $5. I have sent the piggyback back and have news ones after they was put in the same thing happen Reject E
will do this just to the $1 bills. Think we will sell the machines and go to some other kind of machines .
But I will call Rowe in the morning and see if they can help .
Thank you

Like said back in 2010, replace the Rowe changer guts with a Mars validator system and you’ll be much happier and a whole lot less frustrated. Rowe is still having major problems.

You can send the transport in for repair, but you'll need a backup transport because you'll usually be sending one in for repair at least once a year. For the cost of one repair and a used transport you can convert it to a mars acceptor and it will work ten times better. There are a few types of conversions, IMO the best is the Etowah Valley one that eliminates the computer.

Thanks so much, all. I'm thinking of getting a Standard changer to replace it.

Cheers,
Eric
