That’s great, Earl.

Of course, the site shown in the video doesn’t look like a dump and it has what most self-service don’t – co-located with exterior conveyor tunnel on very big property.

What do we know about such sites? Law of retail gravitation states such site will attract more business from further distances than smaller location, all other factors held equal.

How many videos of slow SS sites would you like to see?

When i took over this location about 12 years ago, it was closed, had garbage piled up. Half the vacuums did not work, only 2 changers and only 1 worked for single dollars only, 80 (literaly) burned out light bulbs. Took a few years to build up volume. In bay bill acceptors and credit cards, Dualers, bonus time, Suoerbay are relatively low cost and decent ROI upgrades.

Yes, If you have the demographics and competitive environment there is some money to be made in SS. If you don't take care of it failure is certain just as it is with a tunnel.

Awesome site & the story is what I like to hear. A deserted site that was asleep just needed a good operator & equipment and the secret sauce most people miss to make it all work in this industry. Everything has to be just right. Merry Christmas Earl. Thomas.
