Thinking about changing

Looking for advice or tips from past experience,

Thinking about changing my D/H 12 position push button bay meters too rotary or some other type.
The reason being, have had good result in past with D/H push button, but now pricing and ability to get parts and no-one to repair the pc boards is becoming a real problem.
Just wondering if someone has made this change and has some advise on which way to go.

During the past years this has been a good place to get good advise and I see no sense in throwing good money away when info. is available here.

I am thankful for your assistance in this matter.

I would suggest you contact Jim at Etowah Valley Equipment. If he doesn’t have a recommendation for replacement push buttons you can have him build some rotary dial doors or his push button doors. Either way if you can’t get replacement push buttons for your doors you will need new doors for a rotary switch

FWIW. I have had rotary switches for 30 + years. 6 - bay, 8 - position. If I have switched 12 total, that would be a lot.

1. Josh Handyside in Texas has new OEM replacement parts

2. S. Thomas and Associates in texas -- repairs

3. RDM Electronics in Nebo, NC --- repairs

28 years here with the 8-position rotary switches with about the same experience.

Had d/h touch select 2000 and had terrible experiences getting the boards repaired. I tried S. Thomas, RDM and a company in Siler City NC. Probably sent out four controller boards and four timer boards in the first 1.5 yrs. that I had my wash. 1/2 the time the boards were not fixed. I replaced five doors with 12 position rotary switch doors from Jim at Etowah Valley. Etowah has the blank doors. You tell them what you want and they put it together in a week or two. I got the door, decal, 12 position switch and dixmoor LED 7 timer. I used my existing coin mech and bill validator. It was very easy to wire up/ install and I am electronically challenged. Cost was about $750 to $800 including shipping. One of the better decisions I have made. Will post a pic when i get to my Computer.

Kleen-Rite can also sell you doors, though I don't recommend the ones they "build" for you. The "wiring" job they did on the ones I saw was an absolute joke.

I scavenged an old door and might work up something meant to be easy to retrofit.

You can do this yourself and save a lot of money. I've gotten rid of many of those stinking D/H crap. Simply remove all of the buttons and board, place a piece of thin metal on the backside, and fill all of the holes with epoxy. Drill the hole for the rotary switch and put a new overlay on the door. Don't you just love what the owners of D/H have done to a once good company?

LED 6 $250 , rotary $100 + labor. Also, Grant Dilling Harris, in Dallas, can completely retro these doors (using your coin & MEI mech) w/ new LED6, 10/12 select rotary for only $950. Pretty good price. Comes pre-wired, overlay, etc
